HOW WE WORK

ICCA complements governments duty bearer role. It partners with local governments, government MDAs with the principal partner being the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development. Furthermore, ICCA partners with children, their families, private sector, CSOs, child focused NGOs, traditional institutions, community-based organisations and associations, NGO networks and or consortia to work towards The Promise to the Children.

ICCA is guided by the following programming principles;

  1. Promote strategic partnerships: ICCA will engage and mobilize a broad range of resources and stakeholders, including governments, civil society, faith-based organizations, and donors to work towards child wellbeing and protection.
  2. Create synergies: ICCA will promote the best possible outcomes for children and families by fostering synergies across sectors and breaking down silos where they exist.
  3. Generate and use evidence-based information: ICCA will use the best available data for decision-making and employ research and programmatic learning to design evidence-based and evidence-informed policies, programs, and practices and adapt them according to the findings.
  4. Strengthen systems: ICCA will support the government to build and strengthen their child-protection systems.
    Adapt approaches: ICCA will adapt programs and policies to a child’s age, life stage, and gender, with attention to disabilities, to increase the effectiveness of its interventions.

OUR SUCCESS SO FAR

  1. Successfully executed the mapping of all child needs, adversities and crises in all districts in Uganda,
  2. Developed a pipeline of intervention to deliver the promise of children
  3. Embarked on fundraising for both organisational growth and delivery of the promise for the children
  4. Signed Memorandum of understanding with the host district of Mukono and a pipeline of other Memoranda in progress

OUR LOCATION
ICCA is headquartered in Mukono district located on Block 101 – Plot 4969, Goma division, Misindye Ward, Sonde cell in Central Uganda in East Africa.

ICCA is registered with the National Bureau of Non-Governmental Organisations in Uganda governed by NGO Act, 2016 and NGO regulations, 2017 as NGO/Charity No. 7694.
