OUR STRATEGY

ICCA complements the work of the government. It partners with local governments, government Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) especially the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, education and vocational institutions. In addition, ICCA partners with children, their families, private sector, CSOs, child focused NGOs, traditional and cultural institutions, community-based organisations and associations, NGO networks and or consortia to work towards The Promise to the Children.

ICCA is guided by the following programming principles;

  1. Promote strategic partnerships: ICCA will engage and mobilize a broad range of resources and stakeholders, including governments, civil society, faith-based organizations, and donors to work towards child wellbeing and protection.
  2. Create synergies: ICCA will promote the best possible outcomes for children and families by fostering synergies across sectors and breaking down silos where they exist.
  3. Generate and use evidence-based information: ICCA will use the best available data for decision-making and employ research and programmatic learning to design evidence-based and evidence-informed policies, programs, and practices and adapt them according to the findings.
  4. Strengthen systems: ICCA will support the government to build and strengthen their child-protection systems.
  5. Adapt approaches: ICCA will adapt programs and policies to a child’s age, life stage, and gender, with attention to disabilities, to increase the effectiveness of its interventions.
